Default 70-81 Rear Interior Panel Availability

Aren't rear interior panels being repopped? In black? For some reason, I can't find them in any of the supplier's catalogs....

The 71 and 72-81 panels are being repoped, but the correct 70 ones are not repoped. PY calls them "rear armrest panels" and Ames calls them "inside rear quarter panel" and they are listed on their website. I think The Parts Place has them as well but I'm not sure.

PY part numbers :

GFI60RL 71 rear armrest panel LH
GFI60RR 71 rear armrest panel RH
GFI60L 72-81 rear armrest panel LH
GFI60R 72-81 rear armrest panel RH

Faux stitching on the 71. I just bought a set for my 70, since the correct 70 ones were not available I went with the 71 style. Here are some pictures of how they came (black) and after painting (sandlewood). The last picture shows an original set of 71 panels and an original set of 72-81 panels. Sorry for the crappy pictures.

Cool, thank you much. I'm kicking around changing the color of my interior, and wanted to make sure everything was available. For some reason wasn't finding the rear panels in catalogs.

Never knew that about the 70 & 71 panels, learn something every day! I'm not concerned with originallity, so sure the repops would work fine for me. I would dye the one's I have, but they were pervious repops that came 'neutural', and I dyed them. Don't think stipping them is an option, so was going to replace. (thinking out loud).

Time to get my personal project going, been way too long since I've enjoyed it, not to mention have a ton into it!

Might not be a bad idea. SuperClean you say? How much of that do you need for a trash can?

I kinda wasn't going to bother cleaning/stripping them, was just going to replace them. Hm. Have to think about that.....thanks for the suggestion!

guys, the repops are a 71 camaro, with stitching , BUT more importantly, have NO provision for a retractor. There is little cut out area in the panels as they are made for cars without retractors..( pre 72.5) Youll need to use a heat gun or a woodburner, to melt out or bend /mold the thing inwards to use retractors. Notice the cut outs on these...

Thanks ForumlaBruce, that's relevant info for sure. Cuirous now if the ones I have do include the cutout, will have to check. Was hoping to just use repops, not bother with the old ones, will just have to make a determination once I yank them.
