dash lights etc not working
A friend and I removed my dash to replace broken speedo needle in my 72 GTO and when we put it all back the dash lights wont work except the left turn signal stays on but does blink when signal lever is pulled down. When headlights are turned on the gas guage goes to empty. The power accessories fuse keeps blowing out. All this happens with power acc. fuse out.
I checked to find a short but cant find one. Im thinking it has something to do with the headlight switch. |

Are you missing any grounds? If it worked before you removed the dash it has to be something overlooked..

If a fuse is blowing there's a short. The left turn signal thing sounds like a bad bulb or ground. There's a ground strap that's a piece of metal that grounds the cluster to the dash frame I think on that year, it needs to be in place, and the printed circuit needs to be correctly installed and not in contact with anything that may make it short.
Pull it again and go over everything you touched, making sure it's all right, and put it back together. You will find it I bet once you pull it. A short should leave a slight black mark where it's shorting. .
