Fan shroud
Not sure what direction to go here just bought a new coldcase radiator to replace an older refurbished one that started weeping. I’ve never had any cooling issues but figured it was a nice upgrade, also figured I would add a shroud it’s a non a/c manual trans car with a 15 1/2 rad.
I ordered a shroud from Ames and when I went to put it on I remembered I was running the bigger 19 1/2 fan. Here’s my questions will the bigger a/c shroud for the 17 1/2 rad fit because my cars setup for the smaller? Or should I just go to the smaller fan as it seems the bigger fan is blocked by the upper tank anyway? Any help would be appreciated thanks. |

have to test fit it. You want the biggest fan that fits just inside the shroud. The shroud has a "bump" so maybe your big fan will work if radiator is in stock position.
Nice to see you using the best cooling option, clutch fan and shroud !

I'm using the 15 1/2 cold case and the factory shroud for that set up with the smaller fan. Your larger fan looks like it would definitely interfere with the shroud. I would stick with the smaller fan. I wasn't having any overheating issues either. The factory radiator that I had re-cored split one of the top seams and I wasn't paying to have it redone. The cold case was definitely an improvement and in cooler weather sometimes the car doesn't get to 180* for a long time, running 180* thermostat.

Exactly what happened to me Ordered the smaller fan from Ames We’ll see. I have a small gap between the shroud and radiator trying to figure out if and what I’ll use to seal it.
