Especially someone in the Chicago suburban area?
I need someone who has a timing light, dwell meter, andwho knows how to tune carbs to help me out!!!!
I just installed a holley Q-jet replacement and installed it, runs ok, but needs to be fine tuned.

anyone who works on this vintage car should have those tools or have a mechanic who knows how to do that. For proper carb tuning, you will also need a vacuum gauge and follow the procedure in the service manual, holley website or an aftermarket performance type manual.

If you are looking for someone in Northern IL, call Ron Panzer. He is located in Marengo. His phone number is (815) 568-5405.
You really can't go wrong with him. He has been working on cars for almost 50 years. My '67 Bonne CV and '66 GTO go there all the time.
He is a "big car" nut (loves Bonnies, Cats, Venturas, etc), and one of the lunatics behing the Grand Prix Chapter of POCI.

sorry, haven't been able to post in a while. I have the timing problem licked, a friend I haven't seen in years stopped by, and he helped me fix it.
Although I still might call ron, I need to get a exhaust manifold gasket changed on the passenger side.
BTW, Anyone know the curb weight for a four door 1972 catalina? I cant seem to find it anywhere in my shop manual.

good, then my four cylinder sonoma can pull my catalina. That will be great on long trips.
