Excellent to deal with, very knowledgeable, seem to have a handle on very good repo stuff and the worst on line catalog I've ever seen. I still use their paper catalog if I want to find something.

Agreed, great to deal with but it is the worst online catalogue i've seen as well. I use the paper catalogue as well. They carry pretty much everything the "big" boys carry and i think they even supply some of the repop parts for the big boys.No issues other than online browsing.

I plan to be dealing with you as soon as this next check comes in....hopefully next week.
Problem I have seen with the site so far, is if you need something specific, you have to use the search, was looking for hood hinges and had to wade through a few area before I finally just did a "Search" . Your areas are not specific enough I guess. Pretty much limited to, Interior, dash, exterior, kits, undercarriage... for the average car guys it is probablly enough, but for dumbas...I mean novices like me I have to really look around!
Oh and love your '69 TA kit, can't wait to buy it, but will be another year sadly, but suggested it to several others, and linked your site in a thread about repro TA hoods, just because I was impressed with yours..well, can't wait to do bussiness with you guys...wait! you do take american money right? :Peace: 'eh?

I think I came across that thread too :) Somebody wanted to see the underside, so I added more pictures to the listing.
you do take american money right?
You know it :D
To me I think its how you are treated and how the situation is handled when there is a problem that seperates the good ones. I heard some positive things about Early birds so I thought I would give them a try as I had never purchased from them before. Well my first order had two problems, one was not solved to my liking (had to make another purchase) and the other dragged out for close to two months so I gave up in frustration. Needless to say they will never get my business again.

These are the kind of answers that i think are unfair. Says he had a problem and does not say what it was just that he is not happy. Why not list EXACTLY what your problem was so we can judge who is the problem. Right now to me it looks like you are being a problem by not being clear on what your beaf was.
Izzy has always been a good guy.

I thought Dar's complaint clear and concise. He didn't call them names just said that one part of his order wasn't to his satisfaction and had to go another vendor were he was satisfied and that it took two months to resolve the issue with the other part. From his past negative experience he wouldn't use them again. Nothing unfair about it.
Besides, I personally prefer to do business with business's in the U.S. if possible.

This is the first time that I've noticed the PY Administration found it necessary to post a warning at the beginning of a thread about "bad mouthing" a business.....which I found very interesting if not telling. They certainly have not thought it necessary when people discuss Mr. Gulper and his unhappy customers.

Ok if it was clear then what was his problem ?
I do not see anywhere that he states what the problem is. What part it was ?, What was his complaint ? ALL I CAN SEE IS THAT HE SAYS HE IS NOT HAPPY. Since you can see what his problem was, by what he says in his post fill me in. I do not see any real complaint. I'M NOT HAPPY IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME. I NEED TO KNOW THE DETAILS OF THE SAID TRANACTION. With out details how can you or anybody make a fair judgement ?

His problem was he wasn't satisfied with the product(s) they sold him or the after sale service they provided to resolve problem in a timely manner. I've know Dar to be a reasonable person in the past.
John....maybe that's none of your business. Dar wasn't happy and seems that it took two months to resolve 1/2 of the problem. I would say that taking 2 months for a vendor to fix the problem, what ever it is, is more than to much time. (maybe not for you) Obviously the item that he purchased wasn't suitable and had to go else where to get an item that was suitable. Obviously some other business did meet his expectation, other than Early Bird.

I need all the facts. I don't live in a soap opera world. He made it my business when he made the statement in public.
Lets let him talk for himself.
Well John I can appreciate your curiosity as to what the exact problems were? What parts it was? and what were my compaints? but the fact of the matter is those questions are not asked in the original post by the administrator, and some of those questions are not even relevent to both problems. What is said is too list your good and bad experiences. Well seeing as I don't have a good experiance to list, I listed the bad experience. It doesn't say go into details.
I did not start this thread, the question was asked and I answered. If you choose not to believe what I say, or "need to know the details" or think that "I am the problem" than I am fine with it, suit yourself. I didn't realize I was on trial here.
The administrator said you could be liable for unsubstanciated claims, well seeing my problems happened about 2-3 years ago and I no longer have the emails, phone records, and reciepts I better not go into too much detail on a public forum right? Wouldn't be wise to go on the record and tell the complete story without all my backup, and it looks like you may ask for that too. Besides its wasted energy on my part, and I don't have 2 hours to type out 7 weeks worth of getting the run-around from Izzy.
For 15 years I have literally bought thousands of dollars worth of parts from Y1, Ames, and PY, and steered many friends in their direction. Nowhere will you see or hear me say anything bad about them because they have been great to deal with. So why would I waste my time to come here and make up a bad experiance? Trust me I have better things to do. I am quick to give credit where credit is due, but I am also willing to share my bad experiences too.
I will finish with a quick question for you John. Lets say you placed an order for something and paid by credit card. Doesn't matter the amount, doesn't matter what the items were. A couple days later it arrives and you discover that you have been charged for something you clearly should not have been charged for. So you call them up and they admit they simply made a mistake. Stuff happens right, we are all human. Now to me it seems like a simple solution would be to just credit that mistaken charge back to the credit card right, then its all squared up, done deal. Well what if they told you after admitting they made the mistake that they would not credit the amount back on your card, but would instead give you that credit the NEXT time you make a purchase from them? and then NOT give you any say in the matter. So in order to get the credit back for the charge you never should have been charged for in the first place you must make ANOTHER purchase from them. Huh???
Tell me John, honestly, would that make you feel "not happy"?

Well instead of a post that long, That really has no substance about your problem.(Soap Opera world) You could have just told us exactly what the problem was in a lot less words. What i am saying is that when you make a statement like yours it is only fair to state all the facts so that others can make thier own judgement. Instead of just asking all who may read it to just beleive that the other guy did you wrong. I don't care if you are my best friend if you won't tell me what the whole story is. I will think that you are not giving me all the details because they will not work towards your cause and you will not get the desired result of un-fairly tearing down the other guy.
Your original post, to me looks like you have crossed that legal line of defamation unless you can back it up with facts. So far all you have said is he is bad, just trust in me.
As MY STOMACH CHURNS, stay tuned as we will feed you little peices AND NEVER THE WHOLE STORY just to keep it exciting and keep you coming back and thinking something other than what is really happening.
JUST TELL US THE WHOLE STORY NOW. so we can make a FAIR judgement.
Whatever...............sorry John but I have better things to do than waste my time debating with you, and frankly at this point I could care less what you think. I asked you a simple question and you did not answer it. I really think you need to re-read my post, maybe more slowly this time. AND I DON'T APPRECTAITE YOU PUTTING WORDS IN MY MOUTH, I didn't say he is bad, just that I had a bad experiance. You sir need to learn how to read. Anyway its not important anymore, I am done.

Dar, this guy as an ax to grind, what I don't know. He didn't post anything until you offered up your complaint. I saw that trying to talk to him was like talking to a robot, can only say what he was programmed to say without thought or logic.
Dar, how are you and your family, Dad and Mom? Give them my good wishes. Are you driving the TA or still in process restoring it?
Everything is good here Glenn . T/A is done and tons of fun (when its not winter here), the Judge I am doing a frame off rotisserie resto. In fact I am heading out to the shop to turn wrenches on it right now. :-) Thanks for asking.

No ax to grind here. I only asked simple questions and cannot get an answer. So please don't ask me to answer yours untill you do the same.
I can read just fine. You said you were unhappy with the service and you would never go back to them. I don't see anything about GOOD in there, only that they were so BAD you won't go back.
I THINK YOU ARE THE ONE WITH AN AX TO GRIND. My ax is already sharp and it seems i'm already chopping wood.
I don't beleive you had any problem at all.
