Thanks to Summit for getting my Edelbrock Shocks to me in 2 days. They were also able to tell me if they would work with the Eibach Springs I will be purchasing.

I'm another very satisfied customer of Summitt Racing.
Something all of you may or may not be aware of is that you can buy things from Summitt (and get their good pricing) that are not stocked by them. A number of times I've arranged with a manufacturer to crank out a custom part and asked if I could buy it through Summitt. Most have said "yes" and given me details of what to tell Summitt. Sometimes the items have even been "drop shipped" directly from the manufacturer to me. Great service!

I’ve been doing business with Summit for almost 20 years, and could not be more satisfied. When I have had a problem, they have corrected it immediately with out question, given me discounts, and/or free handling. Summit is hands down the BEST mail order company around!

I also have always ordered from Summit and recieved excellent service but my latest order and my dealings with Summit has soured my experience lately. I ordered the new TorquerII EFI intake in late February. At the time it was back ordered 2 weeks. No biggie. The delivery date has now changed so many times I've lost count. It may now deliver April 23 but I'm not holding my breath anymore. I've sold my carburated version weeks ago so here I sit and watch the days getting warmer. Scott Esterle replied to an earlier post of mine about the delay and said he could have it dropped shipped from Edelbrock. I e mailed him twice asking him to do that but recieved no reply. I have called three times asking if it was possible to get a no kidding delivery date. Twice I was told someone would call me back on it..no call..the third time I called, the guy said " I don't have to do anything but tell you it's backordered from Edelbrock". I think Summit jumped the gun allowing people to purchase an item that doesn't seem to be ready to sell. You can't order it from Jegs or anywhere else from what I've found. I understand that S*&^ happens but telling me that the problem is being looked into and getting no reply back just frustrates me futher. I'll continue to buy from them because 99% of the time there has been no hassle and its on my porch next day using UPS ground. A good company, I just got burned on this important item. Thanks for letting me vent.

I just today had my first hint of a problem with Summitt. I've had an MSD part on back-order from them for over a month, so I called MSD to see how soon they would manufacture it. Surprise- MSD said it's on the shelf! They suggested I tell Summitt to call them. When I relayed this to Summitt, they seemed hesitant to call MSD, and said they would get back to me, but no call today; hopefully tomorrow.

Pontiac Jack- Email me with your inv# & part# on order & i'll look into it.

Lemans, We did not jump the gun. We have already filled two orders for this intake before you placed your order. We have a policy that we will not sell a new part if it is not avail from the manufacture. Edelbrock also will not give us pricing on a part that is not yet on the shelf. It appears Edelbrock sold there first batch & now we are just waiting for them to make another run on these. I do have an email into Edelbrock for you to try & find out what kind of time frame they have. If you ever need anything you can email me or call me. My ext is 6225.

Lemans, Edelbrock just got these in stock & shipped are order out on April 7. They do have more instock so i'm setting your order up to ship from Edelbrock direct to you. I would give it 5 to 7 Business days.

Scott, I emailed you using the address which you gave me in a previous post. I checked my address book and its the same as the one you list here so I can't explaine why you didn't recieve it. I didn't get an undeliverable notice so it went somewhere. I find it curious that it took a public forum to finally get the ball rolling when multiple contact to Summits customer service went ignored. In any case, thank you for your assistance. In 5-7 days all will be forgiven.

Scott, Not to beat a dead horse but if you never recived my emails with my customer number, order# etc. which I had included in my emails to you, how is it getting paid for and how did you get my address?..hhmmmm http://forums.performanceyears.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

First of all if you look me up by my name you will see i take care of the Pontiac people. Secondly i looked you up by the part#. Since your listed as living in Scotts Michigan & we only had one order for that intake going to Scott's Michigan it wasn't to hard to figure out. I answer every email i get. Now i do know that there are some email addresses for what ever reason i don't rec there emails. I can't receive the emails that my mother sends from her work place for some reason. I've had my work email checked & they claim there are no blocks on my email. You can also email me at [email protected]'m sorry this didn't get taken care of sooner but its hard to help someone when you don't rec there emails. Again i apologize.

SCOTT ESTERLE

To answer how its getting paid for. It would be billed to the cc that was used on that order.

I've dealt with Summit a few times, always quick and painless, great prices too!

Couple questions for Scott if you could answer them....Senario.. my girlfriend ordered me some parts from summit for Chirstmas..

1. Koni shocks.. only lifetime warranty for the purchaser? Or can I get them replaced?

2. I got 8 of the Walker 3in SS exhaust clamps.. I can't use them. They are for butt-ends. I need the lap joints, can I send them back and trade em?

Thanks for the great service though.

Jake

A couple of months ago I bought some new axles and decided to go with the Moser retainer plates. Called Summit and ordered them. Had them in 2 days. Unfortunately, they sent the wrong ones.
Called them, purchased the correct retainers and they sent sent them next day air on their dime.
Sent back the wrong ones a week later and I was refunded for the parts and the original shipping.
Can't beat that.

BTW - the search engine on the Summit site is second to none. Its almost inmpossible to get the wrong part now! Thank the web services team for me please!

I've bought a few things from Summit and they are great!
Scott is very good, knows pontiacs, and recommends good workable solutions to the occassional problems that we face. I had a centerforce clutch wear out prematurely (due to a combination of heavy use and oil fouling from a leaking rear main seal). I wanted a different clutch and Scott recommended the RAM series. Well, I got the RAM clutch and that thing's a beast http://forums.performanceyears.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif
Thanks Scott for the solid recommendation !

Scott- after waiting 2 1/2 months for SCE to make my head gaskets, I was REALLY worried that they might have been shipped to someone else. I sure hope you're right, and that they're on their way to me!

Scott- That's good news about the head gaskets.
UPS left a pick-up notice on my door this morning before I was up. As I told you, I'd just as soon keep the exhaust gaskets, so I didn't have them ready for pick-up. Is there some way Summit can simply bill me for them? If so, I'll just ignore the UPS pick-up. Let me know.
Thanks, Jack Gifford

I posted a long winded post about summit verse jegs and I can say Summit is the best. Next Time I have an order I will use scott and know it will be right. Now scott are you gonna get them to start a seperate pontiac section like the Mopar and msutang guys? I mean geez even the Sport compact rice burners have thier own section!!!!!!!!!

I have been buying from Summit for the past 15 years and have nothing but good things to say about them. I live in PA and have my items within 2 days, often even the next day. The staff is friendly and helpful. I just got some stuff last week and they even threw in a free hat. I would, however, as mentioned like to see them carry a few more pontiac items.

I get a lot of stuff from Summit also.
I find it strange that with so many Firebirds manufactured in 1979 that there are so many parts NoT made for that year such as the Goodyear Hi-Miler hose kits.
back to thread subject:
Summits online search engine is light years ahead of others. Makes it way more easier to find what your looking for.
Jegs has been frustrating/aggrivating.

Yep, summit is a good place to get parts.

Just to add my .02 cents worth.. First off. Scott is honest and doesn't play games with customers. He's bailed me out twice at Norwalk now. He brought some parts to me I really needed to race at Norwalk. UPS delivery time was questionable.. He didn't have to do this but I appreiated it very much..no parts= no race.
