I dug the old rubber brake line from trash. The new rubber line does NOT have a slot where this clip was inserted. The new lines from Ames has an Incorporated flange to hold it...

I have owned my car for 22+ years now. I drive it all year long. Of course during winter here it is hard to do, I DO NOT drive it on white roads. The most it has sat was for 3 weeks one bad winter.
