I drove 35 miles to the chassis dyno yesterday and put down 730 RWHP. This was on 110 octane fuel with open pipes. Last year it made about 600 RWHP on pump gas and ran a 10.58 sec quarter mile. I should have new quarter mile times in a few weeks.

Quite an improvement for sure. Looks like the 60-1s did the trick. You kept your same turbines correct? At what psi did you make those numbers? How much torque?

Nice numbers, its good to see someone pull off the twin turbo set up that they made!!
Since you did a lot of the mock up yourself you should considering making that setup along with a single turbo set up on the passenger side. I am sure after seeing your numbers guys will come around to doing turbos. What size injectors are you running? |

Thanks everyone, I'm glad to see that so many people like my upper radiator hose!
The heads are 7F6's ported by Butler Pistons have about 10 cc dish for 8.2:1 compression Injectors are 95 lb/hr Boost was 18.5 psi Cam is a custom Comp Cams solid flat tappet, 234 degrees at .050", .500 lift, 114 degree lobe separation, single pattern. Tom V - The intercooler core is an no-name ebay bar and plate piece, 27" x 6" x 3", intake air temp at the throttle body is 110 F under boost. Here are some more pics: |

I especially like the custom-fabbed headers with the head bolt stays that bring the bolt head out past the primaries where you can get a wrench on them.

The under the hood picture looks like your engine is the heart of an HVAC system.....sweet plumbing job! The neighbors probably think an airport moved in next door when you rev it up.

Thanks everyone. The trap speed on my 10.58 second pass was 130 mph. That was when I was making only 600 rwhp. I'm hoping to break into the 9's now.

Turbo we are getting ready to do an altered version of your exhaust manifolds...Im determined to keep the pwr steering pump in stock location...so inner fenders are coming out and turbo on driver and pass sides will hang out to the sides. Oh btw where did you get the water pump and crank pulleys for that serp belt? Mike |

Yup, I do my own welding and stuff. I bought a TIG and a used Bridgeport a few years ago, two of the best investments I've ever made.
The pulleys are from a 5.0 Liter Ford Crown Vic. I bored out the lower pulley and drilled my balancer for the Ford bolt pattern. The water pump pulley had a 2" hole in it, I welded a piece of steel plate in the hole and drilled it to fit the Pontiac water pump. That's a GM CS140 alternator that puts out about 90 amps at idle which is necessary for my cooling fans, fuel pumps, intercooler pump, and fuel injectinon. Here's a pic that shows my KRC power steering pump on the lower passenger side of the engine. Moving the power steering pump was not a very big deal. If you think my intake plenum is ugly just wait and see how your engine looks with a big old nasty GM power steering pump up in front! :0 |

Thanks for putting up the dyno sheet. Not only are you making big power, but the numbers just go almost flat line. Your car must be a animal to drive.
Could you tell me the RPM where you stopped the dyno pull? The reason I ask is I need to pick out a turbo cam soon, and I was wondering how high you were running your 236 duration cam. Thanks Oh and the a/f is sweet |
The Waste Gates will cause the power to truncate and create the flat line on the power curve
as the boost level is maintained. Tom V. |

Brian, my car is too old to require emission check in my state.
Tom - I wish I had some better pictures of the power steering pump bracket, this is all I have. It's just a piece of 1/4" steel plate that bolts to the two timing chain cover bolts on the passenger side of the engine. I ran a brace back to one of the motor mount bolts in the block and reinforced the plate with a rib. I have slotted holes in the plate for the pump to slide away from the engine block. It doesn't swing like a normal bracket, it just slides. The lower radiator hose is a tight fit. The bracket requires a small diameter aftermarket balancer so that you can get to the bolts. I hope this helps your turbo kit, when did you say it would be available? 69v8tr6 - That pull stopped around 5500 rpm. I have the rev limiter set at 6200, and it pulls hard all the way there. My cam is 234 degrees at .050" It's custom ground by Comp Cams I can find the part number if you want it. |
