The 572 Straight Valve Killah !!! :)
5 Attachment(s)
... ok guys, the title was more for Kinsler than anything (lol) as that's what he likes to call this thing, maybe I added the straight valve part, lol, but anyways, I wont get into all my bs life drama crap, that has obviously got me behind the 8 ball with this build as most are aware, but many have been asking for info or updates on the 572 CV-1 engine we are building for my 71' Camaro ...
... I wont throw up too much in the first post post, i'll just try to answer any questions that may come up in the thread, and just try to let the pic's show where we are at right now ... ... short-block is going together, stuck in the clearance phase right now, had a few areas that made contact, so out came the die grinder, almost done with that part, the rods are clipping in some areas, but once that's done we'll check for thrust end play, piston to deck, cam phase etc. ... ... there is quite a bit of work yet in the topend of the engine, but the focus right now is the short-block, then we can finish up the seats, guides, valvejob, hand work as all the CNC work is complete, volume test chambers, piston to valve, etc. so the work then can begin on the custom manifold for this build, which looks to be a lot of fun ... ... i'll just throw up some random pic's of what she's looking like right now ... |

wth kind of carb is that? im guessin its to help center the venturis over the ports?
|
Quote:
it's a spread-billet dominator that I sell, and yes, it does help center things up for a spread port layout ... |
i had a feelin that you made it. pretty cool
|
Very Very Nice Parts there Bill.
So how did you determine the Spread Bore Mount Position vs the intake? Do some Mondello wet flow testing? Tom Vaught |
Dang! Cool pieces. Where are you trying to make peak torque and peak HP? Those are some big manifold runner entrances. Best of luck in all your endeavors. Hope to see you at Norwalk.
|
looking good.. plenty of time to have it at Nowalk.
you and magic man!!!! think it will make a 1000 HP? |
Bill , GET THIS MFr DONE! This thing has to make some power. Get it done and in the car and get your whinny azz in the lane next to me at Norwalk.:)
You were supposed to have this done last year. Lets go lets go lets go:) |
Quote:
... oh no, way more caveman then that ... basically using parts we already have in the works, and making runners fit them, carb included ... |

Quote:
... I think so ... :D |

Quote:
... well, it is in the line up, lol, but its very pricey, as it's a full billet carb except the bowls, so I don't sell many of them ... |
Looks good for an engine that doesn't exist, must be our imaginations.
|
Nice crank. I see you went with the OMNICRON Finish. Pretty nice looking stuff there.

That is a whole lot of sweetness. Any idea on completion timeline?
Nice to see you back Bill! |
Quote:
Quote:
... thanks Doc, I agree with the sweetness part, just not the cheapness part !! LMAO !! ... Holy Hell !!! ... ... completion, as soon as I can, my stuff gets worked on last, customers stuff comes first, but we are making progress for sure, i'll keep the thread updated as best I can ... |

Your stuff get's done last, My stuff was there 3 month's, and wasn't even looked at. But I guess I wasn't a customer, or my stuff would have been done FIRST. Silly me, what was I thinking ? :D

Yes , its in the shop now, will be fresh and ready to do in about a week. Let me know? Bet you didn't expect that.LOL |
Really nice looking stuff you have there. Finally a max effort piece :cool2: Good luck with it!
ps. The intake ports on the manifold look huge  |

Nice avatar Bill. Keep picking at her. Looks like you got the parts now to get that 572 together. Should be some serious H.P.
|
Some REALLY nice parts here. Have a feeling she'll put up a number.
Agree with the others Get-r-Done. |
Good luck with build Bill. Looks very promising.
Tom Syron |
It looks like two different tunnel rams, one sheet metal and one cast. Will you be testing them both on the 572?
Thanks, Tom Syron |
Quote:
... no, the cast tunnel ram was for something else, I just had the tent-top on it for a picture, the Billet Runner mock up is the one being used for the 572 ... obviously I still need to finish it ... :( |

A friend loaned me a trans last year, but at the time he was just barely an acquaintance. I was blown away by that and im just trying to be that same kind of person. |
Bill, I know of a chassis to put that motor in. Yes it has a Tranny and a very very nice converter.I can have the headers built and we could work out a trade for them.........They would most likely wind up as a set of nice Dyno headers for JMRE.
P.S.Why in THEEEE heck are you talking on the Internet????? GET TO WORK LOL |
looking good bill i cant wait to see some dyno and track time results.

X2 TIC TOC Plus we are locked in, a no show is the same as a loss. And remember if you lose you have to wear a EHTTFMFr shirt all weekend.:D |

or wearing the shirt? IF hes done and they race i see a EHTTFMF shirt being worn by a pretty tall cv1 proponent. just sayin
|
lol i dont see him wearing the shirt. also im guessing he's gonna make sure the car is ready before he shows up to race, no sense in rushing it and losing because the car isnt properly setup lol
