I forgot how much fun racing is, make a pass get back up in line and wait for 2-1/2 hours while they fix the electrical issues with the lights then go racing then a guy oils the entire track down.

It takes a special type of stupid to do this!

I took the 29.5-10.5W off the car and put a 315 drag radial on it and it is a night and day difference how it drives.

It is much more stable with drag radial.

You might if the track prep is poor. Glad to hear you're back out.

Lil jack,
Glad to hear that you improved the cars drive ability for those Friday night beer runs. ;)

But for the comparison to be any wheres close to even you would have had to replace a 10.5 with a 265/275 DR.

No, not really. A 29.5-10.5W has a 11.2 tread the 315 PRO drag radial has a 11.4 tread.

Both fit on the same 14" wide rim

Lil Jack,
So no honest in labeling.
A 10.5 is really 11.2 and a 315 / 12.4 is really 11.4

What about 60ft?

Try studded snows...:D:D

johnta1 09-23-2017 12:47 PM

Is this what you are using now?
(compared to the old one also)

315 Tire

LiL Jack 09-23-2017 02:00 PM

Yes,!I was using the 29.5 10.5W slick, now I am using a 315 DR tire.

BruceWilkie 09-23-2017 03:29 PM

I Want to try the M+H 390/45-15 radial at some point. Don't think it sticks any better than a 315 but like how it can fit a mildly tubbed car.

That is about the same size I run (29.5 10.5W slick) but I can fit the Hoosier 29x12W or MT 29.9x11.1W slick. 10 sec G swears I can pick up 60 foot with drag radials.
Might have to try a pair.

"point and go" (boring) is the exact reason I converted my '68 Firebird to a stick car. Much more entertaining. :)
