ANYONE ELSE BOYCOTTING THE SUPERBOWL

this is the first year in my life that i have not watched a single nfl football game all year and including this superbowl.

400 4spd. 02-04-2018 09:37 PM

Yep.

2manyponchos 02-04-2018 09:48 PM

What is this thing you speak of? I've been Pontiac'ing all night ;)

mlewisariz 02-04-2018 10:06 PM

Only bowl game at my house was the Puppy Bowl.

RocktimusPryme 02-04-2018 10:07 PM

Not even slightly. I need to be watching if Tom Brady fails.

locomotivebreath 02-04-2018 10:09 PM

Wife wanted to watch the halftime show , I wanted to watch a movie . Been flipping back and forth

Greg Reid 02-04-2018 10:25 PM

Been lying on the couch, halfway watching...halfway letting it watch me.

GT182 02-04-2018 10:32 PM

I've only checked the score twice.... once in each half. Other than that I'm not watching it at all.

I know one thing. No matter who wins I do not want to be anywhere near Philly tomorrow. And I pity anyone that lives there or has to go up there.

bankbook 02-04-2018 10:37 PM

Super BOWEL.
Not a chance.

Sirrotica 02-04-2018 10:40 PM

What's a super bowl?
Is it a really large piece of dishware?

Daytona 500 is in a couple weeks, I'll be watching that. NASCAR has already made it abundantly clear, anyone kneeling during the National Anthem earns themselves a one way ticket home, never to return. IMO, NFL should take a page from their playbook.

lugnutx2 02-04-2018 10:45 PM

No tidy bowl here, the big $$$$ contracts will be getting smaller.

hurryinhoosier62 02-04-2018 10:51 PM

Haven’t watched it in years. Why start now?

marxjunk 02-04-2018 10:57 PM

havent seen a football game in way over a year...dont plan to watch any in the future either

63 Pontiac 02-04-2018 11:01 PM

if they deleted the commercials and Al Michaels it would be good to watch.

RocktimusPryme 02-04-2018 11:04 PM

Maybe Im just contrarian by nature, but I honestly think Im mostly watching this game just to spite the channel changers lol.

Other than a $50 bet on the over, which I already won I have no interest in the game. Well rooting against all Boston sports franchises but thats another story.

West Coast GTO 02-04-2018 11:09 PM

Puppy Bowl, not super bowl.

Trulyvintage 02-05-2018 12:44 AM

It was a great game from start to finish :beerchug:

I boycotted the regular season and only saw the last half of one divisional playoff (Vikings/Saints), but I'm not missing the conference championships or the Super Bowl.
I had the channel checker ready to punch out if they showed any Anthem dissing chumps but all was well. They even had an Iwo Jima vet do the coin toss, so that's a step in the right direction for the NFL if they want to break away from the politically correct gutter.
Here's a video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fALmbp_rVtA
They should have given Woody a bigger ovation though.

I promptly turned it to the weather channel for some Highway Through Hell during halftime. (one of the few things I watch on TWC. It's a great series)

Squidward 02-05-2018 02:27 AM

I enjoyed that one. Thrilling, although I wish some defense would've showed up to play a little bit. The former head coach of my Detroit Lions was the DC on the winning sideline, squared off with the DC of the losing team, who will now become the head coach of said Lions.

I have no need to punish the NFL. I like Brady, Gronk, and Edelman, but I am not a fan of "more Pats, lather/rinse/repeat".

Philly put together an outstanding team performance. I had a tough time figuring out who would get the MVP award, but figured it would most likely be a QB if there was no overwhelming standout.

I haven't watched or listened to a NFL game since the 2nd game COLON K sat for our National Anthem.
I had several Superbowl parties in years past.
The NFL and Roger Goodell forbidding the Dallas Cowboys to honor their fallen police officers was the last straw regarding giving them a 2nd chance.
Maybe, but only maybe I will "check in" on their policies and positions AFTER Goodell is GONE.

The Boss 02-05-2018 08:29 AM

That deserves to be bigger! LOL!

JSPONT 02-05-2018 08:31 AM

Nope have not watched either, at this time I do not know who won, or care.
I will be on the side of the guys who give there lives for my freedom, not the overpaid fools.

Old Goat 67 02-05-2018 08:35 AM

Haven't watched one episode of the Gladiators for 35 years.

Couldn't care less, except for the fact that Stupidity is Contagious!

Half-Inch Stud 02-05-2018 10:43 AM

Drove 12.5 hours from PA to AL yesterday; no radio mentions of Superbowl avtivities at all.

Well there was 1 sports channel near Nashville but couldn't tell if it was football talk.

THEN we heard the Eagles Won via a text message; named scores at end of each Quarter & OT.

Scores sound scripted like WWF; so i imagined grown men in padded tights running their scripted plays.

Bad Ref calls?
Fumbles?
Intercepts?
Key play callbacks?

Probably very little of that....right?

Watched it all, great game.

george kujanski 02-05-2018 11:42 AM

I never watch any pro sports with 1 exception.....in 2016 I watched every post season game of the Cubs...I was surprised at myself. It was a great series.

NBA is the worst.....run to one end, put the ball in the hoop.........run to the other end, put the ball in the hoop. Team with the tallest players wins.

George

The only good thing about Philly is The University Of Penn. the rest of that cess pool city should be dozed into a big hole and concreted over the whole nasty place. Nothing else good about that place IMO! :poke:

71GP76TA 02-05-2018 12:36 PM

5 minutes into any ball sport game... I'm falling asleep..

Firedup6975 02-05-2018 12:49 PM

Anyone see how the animals in philly acted? Flipping over vehicles and wrecking things? Yeah that’s real team spirit right there.

Flipping cars, tearing down poles, busting out store front windows, and punching people in the face in stores just for a freaking t shirt. Yup the city of brotherly love my ass!:mad: but then again that’s a typical day to nPhilly, it’s just worse because of a simple football game.

tooski 02-05-2018 03:56 PM

Yep, watched it. Wanted a good game and got it. Always cheered for the underdog. Got that, too. Especially when Pats were unable to blow out the opposition in the 2nd half.

Simple Man 02-05-2018 06:11 PM

Watched about 10 minutes of the second quarter, and about 5 minutes of the third. That's the most "pro" football I've watched this year.

We did the auto shows there, crooked bastards strong arming you about everything, the city sucks.
Liberty bell, philly mint, that's it.

Next I can give two craps about is is the Olympics, all the fake things they added.

burd 02-05-2018 11:18 PM

Dimitris, and there's a good Italian rest in the market area.

AkCamaro 02-06-2018 01:29 AM

Boycott? No. Not at all.
I watched the game and had a great time.

Drag Star Le Mans 02-06-2018 02:45 AM

There is huge divide in America on so many levels. It is truly a shame, and it is trickling down to here.

NeighborsComplaint 02-06-2018 03:17 AM

Here's the highlights for those who missed the game: No one took a knee during the national anthem. Tom Brady fumbled in the closing minutes. His daughter picked her nose.

Stuckinda60s 02-06-2018 03:21 AM

I love college football, but never watch the pro's. That being said, I did watch the Stupor Bowl from about 4-minutes in, and enjoyed it. Foles was very impressive and the Eagles deserved the win.

I hope she was able to pick a winner.

Agreed. All this boycotting stuff is silly.
It was a good game.

LOL, if I wanted to watch a bunch of squirrels running around making noise, I'd look out my living room window...

I watched several of Kindig's shows, was great!!!

Radman 02-06-2018 10:04 AM

Yes I boycotted. The entire season, and the Super bowl. I watched Saving Private Ryan, and the Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy.

It's not silly, people protest the way the choose to for their own reasons.

Is being patriotic silly? Standing for the flag? Boycotting a game or sports season certainly isn't.

I chose to watch the game & follow the Patriots because the issue had passed and because that's what I wanted to do. Others can do the reverse for their own reasons.
