2500 stall converter for my 59

Anyone know where I can buy a new torque converter with a 2500 stall for my 59?

Origin trans? Which one? One doesn't have a TC it has a fluid coupling.

I'm not aware of anybody ever doing that- it would be up to you to experiment with brazing and cutting the main-torus fins. The design of the Dual Coupling HydraMatic rules out converting one to racing. The 1-2 and 3-4 upshifts require filling the smaller fluid coupling- which cannot happen in a tenth of a second- the typical actuation/release time of bands and clutches (as in Dual Range HydraMatics).

Or- do you perhaps have a Canadian Pontiac with a Chevy engine? If so, ignore what I said above.

I have to ask why? Is it a idle problem with a big cam? Going to raw vacuum and more initial will help. With the granny gear first it should launch well..
I have heard of guys messing with internals....

There is no converter.

Look on e-Bay for the 1963 Bonneville 421 Tri power governor.. It works perfectly with the 068 cam which is all you really want with that combo. Its a very nice combo..

Don't get talked into the th400 swap by some drag racer, the Super Hydro is a blast on the street.. Its a very strong and efficient transmission..
