You have a major short or power drain somewhere. Does the car have A/C?

You should measure the current draw when you connect the battery to see if indeed it is high enuf to be called a battery drain or a short. Sometimes it may spark when you connect, but the current draw may be temporary or not high enuf to be a problem.

Get a multimeter, start on the 10ADC scale, and with one of the cables off, connect one side of the meter to the battery, the other to the cable. If the value is low enuf, change the meter to the mA scale, (usually 200 or 300 mA), and measure again. Normal will be about 10 to 20 mA or less.

no ac just power sterring and brakes thats it!!

I agree with George, test it. Sometimes electronic/digital radios, etc. will draw a small amount of juice when the battery terminals are first connected for the memories in the radios. Also, make sure doors are closed so that door light switchs are not activated. Like George indicates if you are drawing enough amps to cause a concern, an easy start is to unplug the firewall bulkhead connections. This will narrow the search to either the engine compartment or inside the car. If its in the car, start pulling fuses until you find the faulty circuit.
