What bolts broke? Can you weld? Is it the bolts that broke or the weld nuts on the frame? Prepare to learn some new skills. http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...icon_smile.gif

Both....I broke the one on the drivers side rear and the nut broke loose on the pass. side rear. http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...icon_frown.gif Yes I can weld, but how do you get to the top of the bolt/welded nut. Its somewhere between the trunk pan and the frame. Would I have to cut my trunk up??

I know of no other way to access the caged nuts other than to cut a hole from the inside and remove it. Then weld a patch back over it.

Here is a little trick I learned from another post on these boards

When you cut your access holes in the trunk pan, only cut three sides. Peel back the metal, and remove the bolts. After you have completed your repairs and you are ready to put the body back on the frame all you have to do is bend the little flap back down and weld the three sides. It will fit perfectly and you won't lose the piece you cut out if you remove it all the way.

Yes I have soaked the hell outta them with Kroil, but it's not working very well. In the past Kroil has worked on everything. Maybe I'm just stronger now. http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...on_biggrin.gif
