Has anyone ever tried carb spacers on a factory tripower setup? Would there be any hp gain from this?

I have run offy aluminum spacers (1/2") on top of
the cast iron 66 intake to adapt Holleys. Most
feel that a "riser" will even out the flow after
the throttle blade and will keep the fuel-air
mixture from hitting the floor at high velocities
but historically Pontiac tri-power intakes do not suffer from that problem as they were well designed by the factory for their carbs.

Just curious, but what about the fit ?

What Holley's did you use to make them fit ?
I did not know that Holley made a carb that would fit on the stock intake ? Only on the spacers ? Any modifications ?

I'm thinking ahead for the new aluminum intake.....

I used a 440 six pack set of carbs.

I used Offy Holley to Rochester (Large base) spacers.

There were no clearance issues on a 1966 Tri-power
intake.

If this combo was tested, what performance benefits did you gain utilizing Holleys on the OE trip manifold ?
