anybody know of an application that has the same installed height as the original? i have the shaker scoop and hood but no base. tried one off a 75 455 grand safari(donor motor) but was about an inch too tall.

I would think the 1973-76 Trans Am bases are the same as the '74 GTO.

I believe the only one that is a direct swap is the 77 Can Am as it used the 74 GTO scoop!

I think the bases would be the same as the 73- on TA's as Held said.

The height differences was made up on the scoop assembly. The GTO had a taller spacer added to the scoop mounting flange.

I know of a place where you can get the whole assy for around $200. eastwestautoparts.com - they are a salvage operation in Tulsa,OK - called them couple years ago and was quoted $175 plus s&h.
