I'm switching intake and carb on my '69 Lemans. Going from the original 2bbl to Qjet. Will the throttle cable work on the 4bbl?
Thanks, Jeremy |

NO! You will have to find the correct throttle cable for your Q-jet. I found this out the hardway, GTO's had different throttle cables for each carboration, no two were alike. Good luck in your search, you need to be VERY careful you end up with full throttle when youre done!!!!

PY sells the correct 1968-1971 4-barrel throttle cable for about $32, part# GME127. http://forums.performanceyears.com/g.../icon_wink.gif

Thanks for the input guys. I've actually got a 4bbl cable available on my parts car. At quick glance they appear the same. However I did notice that Ames and PY sell cables that are listed for the 4bbl only. So I'm trying to find out if they are the same or not. I just don't want to spend time tearing out a part and replacing it with the identical part. Looks like I'll take 'em both out and lay them side by side. http://forums.performanceyears.com/g.../icon_wink.gif

I am pretty sure its just a slight difference in length.
