Annodizing is not that expensive if you have a multiple pieces. They usually charge by the batch. ($60-$90). The important thing to remember, is that your moldings have to be completely scratch free! I made the mistake of re-annodizing my moldings without polishing the parts thoroughly first. The annodizing process does NOT cover up imperfections in the moldings. Look up "polishing and plating" in your yellow pages and then ask one of these companies who does annodizing in that area.

I bought this powder mix from a vendor at a big event in Oct. You mix 4tps to a gallon of warm water and place the piece in for 5 mins. , smokes and makes a stink, wash in cold water and hit the polish. Did a small piece on my brothers car( MOPAR so what the hey!)Worked out real nice, was able to polish to a almost new conditon. E-me if you want the guys number he will ship anywhere.

A friend pointed me to a web site that is just chock-full of info about aluminum anodizing -- what it actually is, how to strip it, how to color the aluminum and how to re-anodize it. The page is posted by a guy who does this stuff as a business (you don't have to buy anything) but he has chosen to show everything about anodizing in total detail including lots of photos. That is a cool site! I worked in a plating shop for a few months on the computers way back in 1983 Radio shack TRS-80's. And I always thought that although a kinda scary/dirty job that plating is a really interesting concept and procedure.
