The classes for the POCI Drag Day are as follows:

Pure stock Traditional Power: The class for traditional Pontiacs and Oaklands with stock engines and drivetrains. 1955-1959 GMC trucks are also part of this class. Closed headers will be allowed in this class.

Pure stock Corporate Power: This class is for 1980 to present Pontiacs and
GMC trucks using General Motors Corporate Engines.

Pure stock FWD: This class is for stock front wheel drive Pontiacs.

Tow Truck: All tow vehicles. GMC, Chevy, Ford, Dodge etc.

'04 & '05 GTO Class: Minimum 20 entries.

Race Classes (3):

Super Chief Quick Eight (NHRA Pro/Super Pro): The eight fastest cars in
qualifying.

Chief (NHRA Super Pro): Open exhaust and delay boxes allowed.

Warrior (NHRA Pro): Open exhaust and slicks, no delay boxes allowed.

All NHRA rules will apply at the track, since Atlanta is an NHRA owned track.

Super Chief Quick Eight cars can not run in Chief or Warrior Classes.

HPP is also holding the Pavement Pounders Shootout at Atlanta on July 13th. Information and application at http://www.palmettopontiacs.com. Come on Wednesday for the shootout and stay over for the POCI Convention and Race. Over $8,000.00 in manufacturers gift certificates and cash and still growing.

Where does a street driven 1980-1989 Firebird with a 455 fit in?

DiamondJim 05-29-2005 06:07 AM

So I can run my 66 GTO with a 455 in stock? -Jim

Mike Davis 05-29-2005 07:17 AM

Jim- my car is even legal for the stock class at most of these events. If they won't let you run in that just run in Pro (Warrior) not much difference since they are both no electronics classes.
