Hurst Comp Plus Shifter Install
My 65 GTO 4 speed shifter/linkage is beginning to show its age (hanging up 2 to 3) which needless to say is killing my et's. I am considering going to a comp/plus setup and wonder if this will accomodate to a console .Any thoughts..?

I would first make sure your linkage is properly adjusted and possibly replace the plastic bushings where the linkage connects. Certainly easy and cheap to try it, otherwise have yours rebuilt or buy new or used comp plus. If youu have a console, you need to liely have yours rebuilt because shifter is specific for that application.
I also have a Comp plus that I removed from my 65 when I installed console and needed correct shifter to work properly. It's for sale if you need it. John Shifter pics |

Also contact Pete Serio on this board - he is THE master on Hurst Shifters - he literally wrote the book - and he rebuilds as well. His website is http://www.precisionpontiac.com/
