I was curious as to how and when you hit your nitrous.

do you guys use RPM window switches? How do you control it?

Does it matter what RPM you hit it with carb applications?

do you launch on nitrous?

If the car will hold with the additional power, hit the bottle when the throttle goes wide open.

I haven't used window switches but I've noticed some boosted applications use 'em. On traction limited cars setting up the low limit can get the car rolling without blowing the tires off.

the best way in my opinion is a full throttle switch. Its one less thing you have to worry about. if something goes wrong and you lift, then the nitrous goes off until you wot again.

when I ran juice on my EFI car, I had to be at like 3000 rpm before I hit it. If I can hook, than there's no reason not to hit it off the line???

I hit it right off the line, with throttle switch. I wouldn't run it below 3000 rpms, but most converters on the bottle will stall higher than that.

Makes no difference from what rpm you activate it, but the engine should be at WOT when doing so. Engine damage will not occur at lower RPM's regardless of fuel delivery (ie - carb or injection). I mean, come on...it's an internal combustion engine...all you're doing is throwing more fuel and air into, who cares at what rpm you start? Engaging it at lower rpm's (ie - at launch) may cause traction issues however. I would activate it with a microswitch set to go on at WOT, and hit it right on launch. Staged teh car at about 1500-1700 rpm and nailed it, convertor would flash to around 4500 on the bottle, and around 3200 off the bottle.

It's fine to run the nitrous off the line if you can hook it. Also, when you do not have a purge kit installed, there will be a slight delay before the "Shot" kicks in. I recommend a WOT switch, they work and they are cheap. Finally, if you don't have a bottle heater or way to raise the pressure in the bottle you'll only get a full nitrous pass 1-2 from a full bottle. UNLESS it's super hot out side and mother nature is heating for you! JD
