Oooh, and it fits under the hood.
Great. Now what am I supposed to do with the Performer I have? Artwork for the office? |
Ken: Do it actual fit under the shaker on a Trans am?
Thanks Charles |
Looks to me to be as tall as a Performer RPM so I am pretty sure it won't fit under a shaker without something like Larry Navarros WFO Breather...
|
BTW - Price? - I may be in the market because I like how it has no heat crossover.
|
$189.95 for Satin and $249.95 for a polished.
If the RPM won't fit, neither will this one. Basically it's a cleaned up version of the RPM. If you want one to fit, get the tomahawk. |

If the Crosswind is patterned after the RPM, the WFO would be the option if you wish to keep the shaker in the original location.

Ken, we have effectively modified our Shaker assembly to run an RPM intake with the stock components, thanks to Rocky Rotella.
If you ever want one of those intakes tested, I need a "second" or one we can remove the water crossover from for the test? Currently we are running a stock, untouched RPM intake, and the weather is improving dramatically here. Still time to get some good back to back runs with the intakes. Let me know, PM or [email protected] ...thanks.....Cliff |

Any pics of it Cliff or Rocky? |
Cliff or Rocky, tell us more about that!
|
Yeah Cliff.....go ahead and tell them.....:smash:
:D |
To keep you all from sitting in suspense, there really wasn't anything to it.
Cliff had a '74 GTO Shaker assembly on his Ventura, and the GTO scoop has a large, sheet metal spacer rivited to its base, which properly locates the scoop. (The Ventura/GTO hood line is higher in relation to the carb). I supplied Cliff with a '73-76 Trans Am Shaker, which has no spacer, and he mounted that directly onto his existing Pontiac air cleaner. The extra space gave him the chance to run a taller manifold, or a stock manifold with a tall spacer. Unfortunately, that's all there is to it! |

Gotta talk to Cliff about that one...

Duplicating what was done to Cliffs shaker will not work for those that already have a trans am. |
There's nothing special to take a pic of? Rocky had a 1" shorter Shaker top, we install an RPM intake that was 1" taller, used the stock air cleaner base, added the shorter top, everything fits perfectly. We just had to modify the throttle bracket and the hose coming up from the valve cover.....Cliff

...guess us Formula and Firebird guys are SOL for it to fit under the hood line?
|
If you want a new one to fit, get the tomahawk.
You can also mill the Torker II down (talk to Butler about that one). |
