chevelle 10 bolt
Will a '72 Chevelle rear end bolt into a '67 without issues? I know a different ujoint is needed but I think thats all.
|
It's a bolt-in.
|
It is wider flange-to-flange. 1 to 2 inches depending on which web site you believe.
|
You will find the same width drum to drum measuring a 67 GTO and 72 Chevelle rearend.
Also a 1972 Chevy 8.2" 10-bolt is the weakest axle from that era. C-clips and wheel bearings running direct on axle shaft.....poor design. |

I found 3.36 10 bolt posi from a '72 Elcamino on CL. Seller wants $300 but supposedly it's plug and play. Seeing I don't have the coin for a new gear set and a posi unit and the cost to have it set up I was going to pick this 3.36 up. |
That sound like a good deal I would jump. It will bolt in no problems, just the U-joint.
