Dynagear Oil Pump??
 

Hi all.

Does anyone have some experience with this oil pump?
I did a search on the web for some info but didn´t find anything.

It has a 3/4" pick up hole and the bottomplate is 7/32" thick.

There was also one extra spring included in the box.

So , does anyone know if it´s a good or bad pump ,and what pressure it delivers.

Dyna gear is out of business. Bought out by Melling. Was a better pump back when Melling was having internal trash and rust issues. Switcxhed over to them and then bought out. LOL.

I was thinking I had heard that (Melling "buy out"). I remember their (DG) sales "pitch" was they tested every pump with air, to be sure it was "right". We found several (Chevy, too, not just Pontiac) with pieces of Teflon tape in them, presumably from the air lines... Take it apart and clean it. It will be fine.

Is there anyway to tell how much pressure it delivers?
I was aiming for around 60lbs.

Gonna take it apart and blueprint it.

Btw, do you know where I can buy some good headgaskets for a 350? 3.905 bore

Melling may have purchased Dynagear, but some of their stuff was purchased by SA Gear out of Bedford Park, Il. a Chicago suburb. They make timing sets for a lot of engine makes, both old and new. I recently bought a timing set off ebay that came from Jegs but had an SA Gear part number on it. Checkers sells their timing sets under the Dyno-Timing name I think. Dynagear owned factories in Mexico, Germany, and Taiwan. I think they still make some of their own gears and I know they get some of their chains from Japan. Maybe melling bought some of their companies. Their website is sagearinc.com but I could not get any info as it did nothing when you clicked on it. Cloyes is also Chicago based.

I´m about to deburr and blueprint the pump, so I took it apart today and look what I found...

Small pieces of cr.p , feels like some sort of hard plastic. There was loads of them..
Wonder what they could have done if they had got into the engine :oogle:
