Fiber Glass doors and Lexan Windows
I have a set of fiberglass F-Body doors. Does anyone have experience installing them? Who sells the lexan windows? I've seen some windows on cars that have a black edge around the window that I like. Also any information on how to get the windows to be able to be in the up and or down position would be great.
Any help and pictures would be appreciated. Thanks. |

My fiberglass doors are attached with factory hinges. You just use nuts on the inside of the door since the door doesn't have threads like the factory steel door. I think it gets more complicated when attaching fiberglass doors to a fiberglass body. You can easily make your own windows if you have a pattern from the original window glass. I cut mine out with a special jig saw blade meant for cutting lexan, then sanded any cut marks out with 120 grit sandpaper with a block. The black border is there to cover up the mounting bars that hold the lexan in place. The paint I used was made by Bickel and sold for that purpose. You need to sand out the area (until it turns solid white) that you want to paint, so that the paint adheres. I'll post some pics of mine tomorrow.
