B&M shifter in a 69 FB
I'm wanting to buy a B&M shifter for my 69 FB with a 2004R trans in it. I the mega shifter which has to part#s 80692 and 80694 these are made to fit 1970 on up, but I have a 69? Has anyone installed one of these? Please help?

The 80694 is a 'drop in' installation on 70-81 Firebird, T/A consoles. We installed one on my son's 69 Bird with a little creative engineering; had to remove the factory shifter bezel and use the one that comes with the B&M shifter. Easy enough to go back to stock if need be. Also, I think the B&M comes with an indicator plate and a feature for the extra detent to accommodate overdrive transmissions like the 200-4r.

Thanks, |
Guys, not sure how to attach a pic to my post but I will give it a try. If that doesn't work you can pm me your e-mail address and I can send one that way. It may be an hour or so before I can get to it.

B&M shifter
How much did u cut out from console? If i screw my shifter down i can't go into my low gears? I try to see whats stopping it, but can't tell yet... If u have any pics of before you put it together i would like to see it.
Thanks, |
It has been several years since the install and I don't remember all the details but I know we didn't have to cut the console. I am sorry I didn't take a few pictures while we were doing the work. If I can find the time I will try to get a pic with the bezel/boot assembly out of the way; might be of some help.
