Best way to get my car on 4 jackstands?
 

I need to bleed my brakes a lot (new everything), and it's very annoying having to jack up the back, then the front, and repeat. I currently have the rear raised on two jackstands on the axle. What's the best way to get the front on two jackstands, also, and where would you guys recommend putting them? I usually jack up a front corner at the frame rail, and put a jackstand there, then do the other corner, but I feel that method might be unstable with the rear on jackstands.

I usually put my stands on the frame right behind the front tires on the frame, where the door and fenders meet. In the rear I place them right before the rear tires on the frame

I jack up the front first, 1 side at a time, and put the stands under the subframe. Slipped off the jack once when lifting the whole front so never again on the Bird. Then I pick up the back with the jack under the pumpkin and put the stands under the axle. I also put the stands under my frame connectors at times. Be sure you jack can roll easily when raising the back so you don't start pulling the car back.

Thanks guys - sounds like I'm doing the right thing. I lifted the front, one corner at a time, while the rear was already up. I'll lift the front first, next time, though. I'm not sure why - but now that the entire car is up, the driver's side rear jackstand is no longer touching the axle. The car is completely stable, though. The front two stands are at the same point on the frame, and are at the same height. Lifting the passenger front corner didn't seem to balance out the back. I'm assuming it's something with my leaf springs...

Back is too high. Lower the back of the car if 1 stand is not touching. Make sure it is on all 4 stands to be safe. Like to hear from you again without broken bones.:)

I lift one side up by hand and have the wife put the stands under it front and back on the frame rails. Then go to the other side.

This is what I do also..........I jack up the front first under the crossmember so the whole front end is up then slip the stands under.

I raise the whole front at the center and put the stands under the a-arms.

Get a lift ...solves the jack stand dilema....(joking)

Do the front, then the rear. If the car is low do it in steps. I usally do the front first by lifting it at the cross member under the engine and put the jack stands on the sway bar mounts (preferred) or the frame depending on what I'm doing. Then jack the rear up by the rear axle pumpkin, and put the stands on the axle tubes near the shocks (preferred) or the frame depending on what I'm working on. Try rocking the car before you crawl under to make sure its stable. I like putting the stands on the sway bar mounts or as far forward as I can, this makes the car very stable and you are also supporting the weight of the engine and front end
