Alum. Radiator

Anyone know what alum cross flow radiator will direct fit (bolt in) my 64 GTO with a 17.5 core support, manual trans. Both in & out on R side, what brand, part # etc. also what elect. fan works best?

I put a Griffin crossflow in my '64, when they were only listed by size in Summit's catalog. Now they list "Muscle-matched" (downflow), and by dementions for crossflow. I just use a run of the mill 16", 2000 cfm electric fan, but I hear there are better fans out there.

I also used the universal fit cross flow Griffin radiator. The only thing I had to do was block up the lower rad mounts to get the radiator higher up so the upper mount would mount to the radiator.

Works great, and from what I heard the cross flows are suppose to be better for cooling than the drop.

If you are not looking for original looks I would go with the cross flow.

I don't know where your located but I have a contact here in So. Cal. who has just finished custom making such a radiator for my 65. He also just finished one for another friend's 64. Fitted both to their exact existing core supports. Very efficient so long as you don't need/want the stock look.

I used a northern rad race pro 19 inch for my 64, it's a cross flow 26 x 19, 19 high and 26 across. They also have a custom fan shroud kit u can buy with it. Used stock 3 core upper and lower mounts, with 2x3 aluminum tubing for a filler in the bottom, and aluminum filler channel in the top, (also northern rad supplied,). Custom fans shroud was welded together by local welder.
