What makes Temp lite come on when???

I put my headlights on and temp. light comes on, i am running a mech. gauge, i see ware the wire should hook on the temp sending unit but i do not have one. Do i have to ground this wire???? Whats the easiest way of doing that??

if your saying the temp dummy light in the dash cluster is coming on with the headlights then id say look at the light sockets and make sure you dont have a regular dash light in the temp lights hole

Sounds like a poor ground for the dash or some power is back feeding. The circuit for the temp light is normally open and the sender grounds it when the engine is hot. If you don't use the bulb anyway, remove the bulb.

Usually the bulb is directly behind the lens for the temp light. :)
