WQ 400 Block For T/A
 

I'm looking for a 9792506 WQ 400 block for my 69 T/A
Any leads would be appreciated.
My car currently has a YU 350 block which just won't do....
Runs fine, but I'm told too many 1/4 mile runs deceased the original 400 long ago.....
Any help appreciated.

You are likely looking for a WQ with a casting number of 9790071. The 2506 would be a RAIV block.

I think you need to check your sources as Uncle Judge is correct in his statement.

All 69 RA III blocks are 071 castings as stated except for late production as they were 914 blocks after late june . Never a 506 unless a RA IV .

My source was a list posted by pontiacpower.net.
They only listed 3 WQ blocks & the 506 was the only 69 R/A III on there.

I got correct distributor only 1111952 all original

Yes this information IS correct
I had a WQ and it had a 952 distributor in it all original. Difference was HO and RAIII had the long branch the regular WZ did not. Had to edit that had the WZ lumped in w the WQ. Forget those had differnt codes sometimes.
As far as I know 2506 is RAIV only.
