key fob issues
 

I have a 2004 GTO and I wanted to replace the battery in the key fob because it's losing its range. After trying to pry it apart for 10 minutes I looked in the manual. It sounds like i cant replace a battery but need a brand new key fob! What gives? any ideas how to get around this and not have to spend that much money. thanks

EBay has them cheap but they can be a pain to program. One thing you have to make sure of if you buy a remote online is that the FCC ID number matches perfectly

Mine has 2 screws on the backside..... Haven't had the need to open it up though..... yet....

The screws only attach the head to the actual key...the heads are not serviceable and are supposed to be replaced (good job, GM)

not quite 90 but bad enough. i only use 1 car for my gto and keep the other on aside. prolonging the inevitable i suppose. probably should get a spare while i still can. i work at a gm dealership, pm me with your info an i can get i price tomorrow for one. any forum member i give at least 15 to 20% off or more if i can.
