69 allignment specs anyone know?
 

Need to line up 69 convertible gto. Can anyone provide the specs for this?

Here is a copy of a repair manual. I don't like the idea of calling for neg castor. I think it would make the car less stable at speed. Castor aids in many things and one of them is tire stability (straight tracking). Neg is what the car handles like driving backwards. I would be inclined to put 1 or two degrees positive castor in it (I like more)

I do the same thing with my goats....about a degree or two of caster. Too much gives you harsh road feedback thru the steering wheel, though, with these cars. One must also remember that the original specs are for skinny bias ply tires, not today's modern wide radials, and the specs were for ease of driving/parking, not driving aggressively.

I think the slight negative caster was mostly for ease of turning with manual steering, they should have had different specs for PS... but they didn't.

Not sure if this will help, but here's how they aligned my '68 the other day. I'm sure others will have better recommendations, but it seems to drive better than before.

BTW, for anyone who hasn't done the Jeep steering box upgrade yet - do it! So much better.

What is the jeep steering box up-grade?

You can replace your stock PS box with one from a mid-late '90s Jeep Grand Cherokee. Much faster ratio and tighter feeling. I took out a fast ratio rebuilt Cardone box in favor of the Jeep box - huge difference!
