Trunk Light Wiring

My '73 Formula has an optional trunk light. I know the wires run through the lid, but where does it enter the body and where does the harness connect?

And how do these work to turn on and off? Is there some sort of internal mercury switch in the light?

The wire hangs down through the trunk opening and connects to the tail light harness behind the rear seat. I believe it is a mercury switch.

It enters the boot lid at the hole in the lower left and their is a plastic retaining clip that attaches also.

Sorry, dragging up an ancient one.

I have a trunk light wire assembly. Trunk end of the wire terminates with a male end clip. How does it connect to the tail light harness? I see no provision within the harness.

Do most simply splice into a constant 12v source (ex. dome light white wire).

Connects to the end of the harmonica connector which is attached to the trunk hinge brace on Drivers side.

Thanks.

Looks like there is a plug for it after all on the "end" of the dome light connector (from the two white wires).
