1970 Fat Wheel ID or Repro?
5 Attachment(s)
Hello guys, I'd like some help to properly identify this wheel. Can anyone let me know if this is a valuable NOS and I quote:
"NK-3 Wheel for a 70 1/2. Called a thick rimmed wheel" or a common repro. It has a dull finish with a grain texture. It's much firmer and more plasticy feeling than later wheels, and it has some sort of molding line around the circumference of it. Any pictures of Actual wheels from that year or repro wheels would greatly help if you have them! http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...1&d=1365177128 http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...1&d=1365177825 http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...1&d=1365177825 http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...1&d=1365177825 http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...1&d=1365177825 |

Grain pattern looks repro to me.

repo for sure..

Repro wheel. The area where the rubber material ends and the spoke begins is way too sharp of a cut on the repros. On an original wheel it is a gentle curve inward to the spoke. Also the material is way too hard and the grain is way too distinct on the repro.
