1969 Alternator Markings?
 

Just been restoring a 1100704 Alt for my GTO.Should there be any "inspector markings" on the alt?

The two letter alternator code should be stamped on the case with black ink.
The code is XB for the 55 amp alternator and XC for the 40 amp alternator. You can have
the stamp made at an office supply or you can buy one from a Pontiac parts vendor.

Hi Peje. I see them on ebay also. Some of the ebay sellers will make the letters you need.

Need to change one stator and planning to use from a 1100794.Same Sh**t?

Yes 37 amps for both numbers. Same parts so use the 794 stator.

Hi! Thanks for info.It`s alt nr 2 I´m working on.Anybdy have a picture of the marking? Such as placement,size of the letters etc,etc.

Go to Google search and type in Alternator stamp then click on "images"
Tons of photos of these stamps will come up on your screen.
