Engine Unit Number

1 Attachment(s)
About 10 years ago I bought a 68 GTO and it immediately went on the back burner. I have been collecting parts and now I want to start the rebuild. The EUN is blank on the Car Billing History, is this a rare occurrence or did it happen regularly? What else can you tell me about this car? I find it odd that it was ordered with a standard eng and automatic with 3:90 gears. Thanks

Not uncommon depending upon the plant. Baltimore will often come up with all zeros in the engine & trans unit number area.

YS with 3.90 axle is wild
can call that apect rare or low production.

None of the plants "seemed" to follow the EUN posting on Billing History on 68 models until around Dec. Even at that - a couple went to using all 0's in their posting when they did start posting them.

But consider we don't how many BHC's versions were recorded at PMD - as in how many versions of the same document were filed. As in - some version of the same time frame of the document might have it supplied on every car. Where as the particular version we actually get from PHS in some instances has no EUN data or all 0's.

for instance - these documents :
i have a July 5th Baltimore GTO with EUN
then a July 15th Baltimore GTO with all 0's
Inconclusive.

Was likely transcribed to record on all of them by some means or another.
At minimum.

Thanks Boss, Baron. Is there a book/web site that I could go to that decodes all the codes on this document? I know a few of them from the rest of the PHS paperwork. Thanks

No, unfortunately.

Which ones are you having trouble with?

345 doesn't show up on the order sheet because it's the standard engine - not an option.

I haven't been able to decode block 74. Thanks

We never actually nailed 742 either . iirc
Was thought to be a process code for 754 shoulder belts.

The order sheet with yellow highlights from PHS is best decoder.
If you have clear copies.

Some of the 3's are choice 1 and 2 - combined.
Some 5's are choice 1 and 4 combined.
etc ...

You probably already know it was built at Kansas City Missouri plant.

To - From State Codes
are both 24 ..... means it went to a dealer inside Missouri

12 056
12 = St. Louis Missouri Zone
056 = Barton Pontiac Inc 9001 W Florissant Ave St Louis MO

BVZ,
Do you happen to have the same lists for 3767 that you can post? Curious what the 350 HO cost was on the LeMans as I got the PHS but didn't get the window sticker..
