Trans leaks at speedo cable outlet.

A friend of mine has a 68 Tempest with its original drive train . He discovered that the transmission is leaking from the driver's side where the speedo cable exits the body of the trans.
Is there a common and easy fix for this?
TIA

Replacing the O rings should do it.
Inner ring seals around the shaft of the driven gear.
Outer ring seals the housing to the case.

If it has the original soft metal housing, seals won't fix it. The center hole gets
wallowed out and it leaks. I f it does have the old unit replace it with a hard steel one like
in the picture on the previous post along with new seals.
