Is anyone making 1000 hp, naturally aspirated
With a pontiac on straight 93 octane pump gas?
|
I dont think there are any at that mark, on pump gas, unless it's like the pump gas drag's 98 octaine pump gas from a drum. :)
Aleast none that post it, but I have been wrong before. I would love to know about them, if they exist. :) |
Interesting...

And don't worry about the "bashing" the way I view it this is nothing more than some bench racing/chit talking at the track(among family members)that just happens to be on The internet. I'll say this we all like our pontiacs and it's obvious the stupid amount of time we spend playing with them kinda makes us proud of them.......as for the direction you take a thread or your comments on a thread I personally will value your statements and I hope to learn more from you.So thanks for hanging out over here for a bit! |
I don't think that anyone is even close with real 93 octane pump gas, but It would be way cool to see someone try.
Chris what do you think it is going to take? Not trying to put you on the spot. Just trying to get some idea's. I know you work with allot of different brands and could probably come up with a Chevy or Ford combo that would. He will come up with a Pontiac combo that will. mark it down.
|
I really hope so!!!! We need the engine builders and racers from the other brands to start coming over to help us traditional Pontiac hopefuls. If that starts happening, our level of performance will expand tremendously. It's who you hang out with that determines your destination in life. Good or Bad!!!!!

I think it's obviously going to take cid. The bigger the better. I'd probably want 540 min.
Then it's down to the rest.... proper open and close events and a lot of valve action. I think I need a 480+ cfm head. The more I think about it the more I'm starting to like it better than a BBC for this application. I have runner length on my side with a Pontiac where the conventional bbc does not. Just some initial thoughts. |
Slow bird on here has be over 900. Not sure how much over but a 511 cubes and 4500 ish kre HI ports rubbed on by barton
Car has backed up the dyno numbers too |
Sweet any pics or other details? This was 93 octane?
|
892HP with a Tiger at 440CFMs,The newest port should get to 4 digits on pump petrol.Bill C.
|
Ran 9.05 @ 147.5 weighing 3380lbs, 496ci HP head flowed 420ish. A 540ci and 480cfm Tigers or ProPort heads and you're there. It's completely doable just needs to be done.

What would the cam specs approximately look like? I have a fresh built 537 with 440-450 cfm tigers, current cam is 264-270 790 lift, 12 to1 compression 185 cranking compression. I feel like I am a little under cammed but does drive good on the street.
