Timing Question

Just test fired new motor, its a 1968 400 in a 68 Grand Prix, original 16 heads. I installed a Summit 2801 cam and being a 68 motor i set the timing set to fire at the number 6 position and set distributor in as such, fired right up and broke the cam in. My question is when hooking up the timing light do i need to attach the timing lead to the number 6 plug or can it be attached to the number 1 plug, just having a brain fart and cant find any info. Thanks for any help.

Both the #6 and #1 plug work exactly the same for setting timing.

Using the #6 plug is easier since it's on the same side of the engine as the timing marker on the front cover, less chance of getting the timing light wires tangled in the fan or belts.
