Remote mirror
Does anybody know how to replace the cables for remote mirror. I have a good mirror just need to replace remote control With cables.
Thanks |
What's wrong with them? Are they broken or just disconnected from one end?

Here is a related question if BMF does mind me asking. I have an NOS mirror on my car so all the chrome is perfect, but I would like to send my original to be chromed.
Does anyone take these apart and chrome them? I am not sure that I can successfully get it apart and back together and have it as new. If someone does this, they would probably be able to replace the cables. |
Most NOS remote mirrors you see on eBay in recent years are incorrect, they are the version that was used on post cars that still had vent windows. When you install them on hard-tops or convertibles they fit but they look weird because they are tilted with way to ok much angle because they were meant to be set farther back on the door behind the vent window.
You can spot these post sedan mirrors because unlike the correct hardtop-convertible remote mirror that had studs to mount it to the door the post-vent window version uses the bracket and set screw like the non remote mirror. |

When installing I had to remove cables from control because wouldn't fit
In hole of door and now doesn't work right. Just wondering if there was a secret to puting these cables back together |

Make sure the cables are seated properly also. When I put mine together the first time it did not work smooth. Went and made sure all the cables were seated right and it is as smooth as butter now. Also might want to clean and lube all the cables. |
Thanks I will give it a shot!
