Looking for PTFB solid bushing tips
 

While the engine and trans are out of my 68 Convertible, I thought it would be a great time to install solid body bushings. Also, based on the advice from my subframe connector post, I thought I'd better do it. We're trying to replace 1 at a time, and it's not going well. So far, we only got the rear drivers side in. We can't seem to jack the body high enough off the subframe. Any advice would be appreciated.

But those need part of the stock bushings to work. My stock bushings are pretty trashed though

My son, we'll call him Jacob, was able to get the 4 important ones in. We used the PTFB mounts. Will maybe replace the core support mounts with stock mounts some day.

I just put in solid bushings. I didn't really have a hard time. I think I remember loosening one side completely except the front radiator core support one and using a piece of wood to pry enough to slip them in.

Might have been easier if we had a lift. Or if the car was apart.

loosen opposite side half threads.... take the side you are working on completely loose. Jack up on body with a board to spread the load. Not bad at all.

Put new side together half threaded and loosen the other side completely. Repeat.

That's basically how I did it, except I think I loosened the core support one as well.
