Copper or Graphite Exhaust Gaskets

I'm struggling with exhaust leaks at the center ports on both sides of the engine. When I install new gaskets, it helps significantly, but eventually they burn up at the centers. I have stock manifolds and thought I would try a higher quality gasket before taking the the manifolds off and having them machined. I'm considering copper and/or graphite. Any recommendations?
Thanks,

I use copper on everything, headers and manifolds. Never a problem, reusable, and last a lifetime.
