I may dig further, but just wanted to put this somewhere. The clutch/brake pedal brackets are different also between Power and Manual brakes as well as the years, but I did not go that far. I have a set of 65-66 pedals as well as 67 or 68 that I will post photos here. to me it looks like you could interchange the pedals from 65-68 although they look slightly different, the angles and such look similar. more to come....maybe?

I checked the Maxperformance online parts catalog and for some reason couldn't find a part number for the rod assembly, but it is in Group 0.854 which may help your search.

The Z-bar (countershaft) is in Group 0.852.
Part number for 1965-1966 P-8 cars is 9779221
Part number for 1967-1970 P-8 cars is 9787237

Awesome, thanks!! Here are some photos of 65-66 vs 67-68. Clearly some differences, but they look to have the same dimensions overall. The clutch pedal has a little different swing between them, but don't see that as being an issue if someone wanted to use the pedals from one to the other.

It's sort of off topic but I was wondering about is what they used in 1971 for the clutch pedal assembly, since they only built a handful of big cars that year with manual transmissions before dropping them in mid-year...whether they tooled up new parts or simply adapted what they had used in 1970.

Probably were Chevy pedals at that point.

to answer my own question, yes, you can swap 65-66 pedals with 67-68 and vice versa. I know that the mounting bracket for 65-66 is visually the same and have used them from automatic brakes and swapped in the swing pedals, so one should be able to make pedals work on their full size car with just a set of the swing pedals from 65-68 and their existing automatic bracket. "manual brakes only"

I will say that once a person changes to disc brakes or whatever else, I am not sure that it matters if you have power pedals or manual pedals though and simply will need to experiment with different bore size for the MC to get the feel one is looking for.

Bumping this great topic and adding a relevant question to keep it all together. Does anyone know what the difference is between the 65 - 66 and the 67 - 70 countershafts are? As Stuart mentioned above, they are different part numbers. I'll attach a picture of two z bars that I have that I was told were both from 66 cars. One has a slight bend to it and I'm wondering if that piece is bent?
