How to call this part???

it looks like the transmission Kickdown solenoid/switch

GM had 2 early names for that. Either "Kick Down Switch" or "Downshift Switch". They can be found under Group number 4.057 and one other number that I cannot recall at this time.

I guess I've found the switch on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1964-Pontia...HFDQ:rk:2:pf:1 ...but I think it's not necessary to replace mine because my car is downshifting when kick down. I just was not sure what this part is good for plus it looks kinda weathered so I thought replacing it is not a bad idea. Quote:

Oh wow! I didn't know that.
Mine is a 1966 Bonneville 421ci. The part on ebay looks identical as mine. You can tell by comparing both photos. Quote:
