Cooling Fan Switch
 

So I'm looking for a temperature sender that mounts in the stock intake manifold location to turn on the electric fans. Prefer the current configuration where the switch goes to ground when the temp is reached. Any suggestions for something locally available, i.e. Blue Streak, Standard, Napa?

A dual switch would be even better, for High and Low fan turn on.

Although I guess I could re-wire the existing relay for 12v input.

Get your eyes on a paper copy of standard ignition illustrated parts guide, the online one doesn't have specs.(that I could find)
The one we had in catalog form (20 years ago)had thread size, temp setting, etc.
Any good parts store and parts man still has one in their b:eek:k rack!

You really should use it to trigger a relay, fan is a pretty heavy load, especially when it starts.

Do yourself a favor an install a fan controller. More flexible in control and reduces the current.

Agree. I've been using Brian Baskin's controllers for the last decade. Used close to a dozen now, zero failures. It usually takes a couple weeks to get one, but worth the wait: http://www.dccontrol.com/selector.htm
