Having a custom cage built will almost always be better than any pre-bent kit. If you are going fast enough to need a 8 point cage you may want to consider upgrading the seats from a safety standpoint.

I used a prebent main hoop from Competition Engineering (I think) which fit really well after trimming for placement. The rest is custom fit. No pictures sorry.

I had bought a kit and the guys that built my cage for the Camaro said if it well and they made a few custom bars. They wanted interior in if I was going to use interior. Still a little tight on side bars and the door arm rest/handle. Had to clearance". They just forgot the D bars-but in their defense I said 10.0s was the goal

Honestly, I didn't like the looks of the pre-made kits. My installer custom bent all the bars to fit the way I wanted them. More expensive, but better in the long run. Had I gone with a kit I would have regretted it every time I got in the car.

My 10 point that I bought from Wild Rides in New Jersey. Couldn't be happier with it. Chromoly. I added a couple of gussets and door sill bars. Bought a window net from them that fit really nice as well.

That is my plan with mine..I have a great local guy...he basically asked is it a "nice car"and I said I want it to be a nice car after! That is why I came here!

The front down bars through the dash is the way to go.

Ours down bars are welded to the dash bar,which sits behind the dash.

Alot of different ways to do it.

S&W makes a decent pre-bent kit, and you can order the rear bars that pass through the rear shelf (instead of the rear seat back)...however, a custom bent setup would be best, and if I had to redo my old '79 T/A again, I would've went the custom router instead of the S&W kit.
