Why would you, though? It's positive pressure...

Put springs in the heater hoses too

X2. what would be the reason or benefit to putting springs in the upper or heater hoses? never had or heard of an issue with those hoses like how a bottom hose can collapse & needs a spring to prevent it.

No problem at all.

I for one don't like the look of a top hose that sucks flat after you park the car and the engine cools off.

If a hose doesn't fit 'just right', the sping will prevent a kink.

My point is you don’t need springs in anything but the bottom hose. Upper hose expands when hot. Why would you put a spring in there.
Get the rite hose.

It IS the correct hose,no clue why it will collapse on just that car.Tom

Check your rad cap if your cooling system is pulling a vacuum when it cools off.

Hose is a wimp and/or radiator cap is too strong and not letting coolant get pulled back in when the engine cools off.

If the car doesn't have coolant recovery system. it's air contracting when the engine cools off. Raising cold coolant level would help with that. And the hose would still be wimpy.. Not as stiff/rigid as factory.

Just for the heck of it, try a radiator cap off one of your other cars. Possibly, something is going on with the gasket, vent or non-vent style, or something with the cap.
I can't see any prob;em using a spring if you want to. Other than it getting tangled up in the thermostat. I would leave it short and back from the housing several inches.

I had a 1984 Caprice with a 305. It would suck the upper hose flat if the RPM's went over 3000. Don't know why it did that. It would run warm if worked, but ran great right to 150k miles.

Here you go, put this metal hose kit on, it looks good at the shows, and makes you go faster.
