brake adjuster

with the brake tool starting at the bottom of the oval opening and spinning the adjuster UP, does that tighten or loosen the rear brakes . Hard to spin the tires with posi rear.

Thanks, Dave

Thanks, Dave

it should loosen.remember the self adjuster is designed to push down to tighten the brake.

I think up at the back will tighten. The hole your talking about is on the backing plate, right?

Not sure if Chevy is the same, but I just went through this on my 55. The manual says to turn the adjuster wheel toward center of wheel. That would mean up.

Rotating the back side of the star wheel up tightens the brakes.

Thanks EV1, I did figure it out. I took the wheel and drum off. From the back of the adjusting hole, I turned the star wheel UP to tighten.
