Iskenderian valve springs
3 Attachment(s)
Pick these up at a swap meet for $20. Anyone have an idea of age. They are new never been used
|
If there new then what does there ago matter?
Also if those are Aluminum retainers they should go in the garbage! |

I might be being too logical here, but since they are Isky springs and you have a Part# on the box, you could call Isky Cams and ask if they have a record of the old part#. They might be able to provide the specs.
No guarantee the springs match the box unless the Part# is stamped into the spring. I would just have someone check the pressures at a given installed height and max lift to be sure. Diameter (for application) can be cross referenced to currently available springs. |
Who knows, if you call for technical support Ed Iskenderian himself could be the one taking your call. He’s still there running his business at 101 years of age.
Just how cool would that be? https://www.iskycams.com/shop/ |
In my 2004/2005 ISKY catalog those inner/outer color codes do not correlate with any spring listed.
However they can be found here on page 16 : https://iskycams.com/userfiles/files...pec%20Book.pdf Rated at 1.650" with 115 lbs seat pressure.... not a roller cam spring for a Pontiac valvetrain mass (pushrods, rockers, valves and springs) in my opinion ! . |
A fwiw.... for conversation around the coffee table. In the 2004/2005 ISKY catalog the recommended valve spring for all their Pontiac solid roller cams was the number 9265, and with this notation... "For use on later model ram air IV or late production aftermarket alum cylinder heads (1.875") installed height required".
That spring is listed here on page 6 https://iskycams.com/userfiles/files...pec%20Book.pdf Note the pressure involved. . |
1005-W and 206-G are on page 16 column 1 of the book Steve posted the link for.

Probably not going to try and use these, bought mostly for shelf art. I was just curious to see if anyone new what year they were. Specifically the box. The springs are correct for the box.
|
I should fix up Ed Iskenderian with my great Aunt thats 105.5 years old. Nevermind, he'd probably get her "in trouble" and they'd have to get married.
|
When Ed does pass I wonder if the person at the mortuary will be able to get the cigar out of his mouth so the coffin can eventually be closed?
