OIL PAN HTTING
2 Attachment(s)
Hope someone has an answer. Put a 461 stroker in 68 GTO. Block is a 69 and has a stock Butler oil pan on it. Drivers side has plenty of clearance, Passenger side of oil pan seems to be hitting the bolt on the cradle that retains the brake line. Everything else lined up fine. Photos of each side of engine mount and difference in clearance. My original pan had the drain in the front, where this one is on the side. I wouldn't think that would be the issue.

Very common with aftermarket pans.I know how to raise on first gens but not sure on A bodies.Maybe new mount would do it.Tom

Put in a shim between the frame mount and frame and reverse the mounting bolt so the head is on top.

Thanks Tom
I was thinking about changing mounts. I found they make shims also to go under the frame brackets. |
Thanks OG68

Mike's spacers are nice

Thank you.

Need a spacer on that passenger side definitely. The motor mount is resting on the frame, let alone the oil pan hitting anything.

This problem always occurs when a Butler pan is used with
the stock mounts. the front of the Butler pan sticks down too much. |
Thanks
